American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Raleigh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

WOW!!!!! The pastries are amazing and fresh, I was shocked at how good. All made here fresh, it was still warm. We also grabbed a ham and cheese sandwich, they toasted it for us, may have been the best ham and cheese I've ever had. They made the bread fresh you can tell. 10/10 I can't believe we didn't know this was here. Stop by- they deserve it!

The baked goods are across-the-board fabulous, whether you are looking specifically for Argentine specialties or just great pastries and desserts. They have a food truck adjacent to the bakery that makes wonderful authentic sandwiches like choripan (with perfect chimichurri sauce) and milanesa sandwich, and empanadas. They also serve espresso drinks!

The facturas (pastries) are SO good, just like back home. But the churros... oh the churros. The dulce de leche stuffed churros are insanely good! They are the real deal and they take me right back to growing up in Argentina. I just wish they sold them during week days as well. Pro-tip, calle them ahead and they'll make sure to have a freshly mad, warm batch ready for you. MuchΓsimas gracias Milonga!
